FEATURED CASE STUDY
KFC OFFICE
MURALS
CLIENT:
SUBZERO DESIGN
SCOPE:
ILLUSTRATION / TYPOGRAPHY
Murals created for the KFC wing at Yum! Brands at the Plano, Texas headquarters.
The Need
To create a series of images and murals to be installed at the Yum! Brands headquarters in Plano, Texas, where many of KFC’s corporate offices are located.
The Goals
To inspire employees by showcasing KFC’s heritage in unique ways while reinforcing Yum!’s commitment to celebrating its employees.
The Solution
Each mural took a unique approach based on the story we were trying to convey. The common thread was an exploration of the brand’s history and how that legacy continues to inspire innovation.
The Takeaway
When approaching murals and installations, it’s important to consider the audience and how the work will be viewed and experienced. Creating a mural for a captive audience is very different from designing one for a high-traffic area.

SOS ROOM
The SOS Room is a brainstorming space where creativity rules, there are no bad questions, and there are no wrong answers. The imagery featured in this mural comes from KFC campaigns from around the world and across the years, creating a collage intended to spark ideas and inspire creativity.

BRAND HISTORY
The brand history wall celebrates the legacy of KFC and the Colonel. Featuring a mix of historic imagery and typography that references different eras throughout KFC’s history, the mural allows employees to experience the story and evolution of the brand.

PEOPLE & SERVICE
We created two murals for a primary employee hallway that celebrate the service and culture of working at KFC. The imagery featured in the murals draws from team outings, employee recognition, and the charitable work employees participate in.
