FEATURED CASE STUDY
HI-HAT SOCIAL
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
CLIENT:
HI-HAT SOCIAL
SCOPE:
BRAND IDENTITY / VISUAL BRAND LANGUAGE
Crafting a brand identity and visual language for a soon-to-be local favorite restaurant.
The Need
Hi-Hat Social is a new restaurant in Springfield, Ohio, in need of a visual identity and brand language for its launch.
The Goals
Our goal for this project was to capture the vision and vibe of the founders and chef, highlighting a restaurant built around great food, great drinks, and a rich vinyl music collection.
The Solution
We drew inspiration from the 1950s and ’60s music scene—album art, record labels, and posters—to shape the logo and overall brand aesthetic. The brand needed soul, and we believe the wordmark and color palette deliver that. Photography, shot by Hatch New Media, also plays a major role in the brand.
The Takeaway
Sometimes you need to hold tight to the inspiration during the design phase. To know how far to take it, we suggest a simple vibe test—never underestimate the power of the right vibe.
