Undergraduate campaign development based on the idea that every one of your 1,000 days as an undergraduate student matters.

The Need

Cedarville University reached out with the need for an updated undergraduate admissions campaign brand.  

The Goals

The goals for the undergraduate campaign was to establish an undergraduate admissions campaign and brand that evolved existing brand standards and messages into something that would serve as a platform for years to come. Through discovery, we found that one of the key ideas that the university President espouses, is that you have roughly 1,000 days as an undergraduate student and those days are transformational, so be intentional with them. We realized we needed to make 1,000 days feel less like 1,000,000 to a high school student. 

The Solution

The key element to the chosen concept was to take the idea of 1,000 days and focus on the singular days, and the fact that each day is important. Each of the 1,000 days that a student spends at Cedarville is a square in the quilt that transforms their lives. Focusing in on single days allowed us to make the experience more "bite-sized" for students and easier to relate to. A kinetic word mark and graphic elements all serve the idea that every day really does matter.  

The Takeaway

When students are looking at their options for college, they don't want to only be served in a way that feels too easy. They are also looking to be challenged. In higher ed marketing it's important to make them the hero, while also presenting your institution as a place that will push them to grow and allow for the personal transformation to happen.
