Andy has held many odd jobs in his life, including digging graves, putting locks on diaries, assembling brooms and a short stint as a vacuum salesman. All of which still influence his work with Hucklebuck in their own way. His design career started out at a local Columbus magazine as the design director creating layouts and ad design. After being there for a few months, it became clear that it was not the kind of work that he truly wanted to do. As a result, he and his roommate decided to take a stab at starting their own design boutique called Former Factory Design Company. At 23, Andy had his own studio and was doing work for a range of clients from Express, American Eagle Outfitters to local bands. During this time, he was also teaching at the Columbus College of Art and Design as an adjunct professor of typography for supplemental income. We had a good run, but ultimately running a business is tough, after getting married to his wife Nicole, Andy decided to remove himself from the company in June 2004 and start Hucklebuck Design Studio based in Springfield, OH. After taking a side track and spending some time as Senior Brand Designer at GSW Worldwide and a Graphic Designer with Abercrombie and Fitch creating graphics for Hollister Co, Andy took a professorship at the School of Advertising Art and is back to concentrating his efforts into Hucklebuck. Leveraging his unhealthy addiction to hot caffeinated bean juice and a deep fascination with the incredibly beautiful inaccuracies of found typography Andy is sure that Hucklebuck will soon regain it's self assigned title of freshest/hardest working design studio in the Midwest.
